I was stuck in a conversation with a website entrepreneur recently, he was quite an intriguing chap; he built a whole empire for himself out of computers, which is always pretty impressive to me - this website building stuff that people are able to make money from.
Well we were talking for a while, and he was telling me all about how he made his money by simply being better than his competitors, and he was using a whole load of web terms I just did not understand! I don't remember many, but he did say failover a lot. I thought it was going to be a funny slang term or something, it certainly sounds like it, but it's not - I actually looked it up.

But it was so typical of me, just going along with the conversation pretending I knew what he was talking about - I could've really gotten caught out - luckily he never asked for my opinion!

As I’m sure many of you keen and revered English gents around these parts are aware, one of the most endearing ways to get the most out of being English is to be frugal. To spend less and cut out quality purchases for something cheap that won’t last but at least it didn’t burn a hole right through your wallet.
One way that I have managed to do this recently is in the ol’ car market. With my old car, the brilliant British Morris Miner, long designated to the scrapheap I found myself in quite the quandary. How on earth do I go about replacing such an icon and how do I do it cheaply. The answer is of course the internet and one of it’s many bastians,Auto Mobile . A handy searchable site that gets you the cheapest deals that it can. Simply and easily.
Wonderful stuff.

I have finally gone and done. After complaining week after week, waking up every morning depressed at the days that would ensue I have actually quit my job. Just full on quit, walked straight out, no notice and I am going to do what I have always wanted to do sine my early 20s. I am going to travel. Armed with a same day loans , a belly through of beer and a mind for adventure I am finally going to start living.
It is 2011 and if the Aztecs are to be believed we will all be dead by 2012 so if I’m going to do it has really has to be now. So with that I am off. I have no idea where I will go or who I will meet but one thing that I do know is that at least it’s going to be better than the rest of my life up to this point.
Bon voyage!

If we were trying to create a new list of wonders of the world this would be one of them. Mano de Desierto – The Hand of The Desert.
Found in the Atacama desert in Chile it was created by the artist Mario Irarrazabal and was constructed at an altitude of over 1,100 metres above sea level. It stands at 11 metres tall and is made from a mixture of iron and cement and I think that it is just truly wonderful.
It looks just like something out of The Mummy. If I was going to Chile, which I’m not, but one day I might – it’s on my list – I would be there like a whippet with my camera out.

Found in Uzbekistan this cavern was discovered some 40 years ago by excavators looking for natural gas. During their search the ground beneath their rig collapsed unveiling this cavern which was full of poisonous gas. To avoid the gas leaking and having a dangerous effect upon it’s environment it was decided to set fire to the gas to burn it all off. This was expected to last just several days until its sources were depleted. Instead it has been burning quiet steadily with no signs of stopping right up until the present day. It’s gateway style appearances with spitting flames and heat has given it the nickname The Door to Hell for obvious reasons.
